How artificial intelligence can help us predict cancer risk

Did you know that scientists are teaching computers how to diagnose diseases? Scientists at Thomas Jefferson University used a type of artificial intelligence called machine learning, in which a computer learned to tell the difference between suspicious (i.e. should be checked out further for cancer) and non-suspicious images of lumps on thyroids.
